The minimum operating temperature of the microcontroller is -40 °C and the maximum is 85 °C. The device is based on the PIC core architecture. The typical operating power supply voltage of this device is 3.3~5 V. This is an 8-bit processor.
PIC16F1704 combines intelligent analog integration with low cost and extremely low power to adapt to various general-purpose applications.
The PIC16F1704 is an onboard secondary control MCU for Antminer S19 and L7 series hash boards. It communicates with the main control board via the I2C bus, stores the hash board's factory calibration parameters, and is responsible for enabling power supplies to various voltage domains, summarizing temperature data, reporting operating status, and providing fault signal feedback. It works with the EEPROM and temperature sensor to complete hash board power-on identification and operation monitoring. When the PIC16F1704 malfunctions, I2C communication will be interrupted, the main control board will be unable to read hash board information, leading to the hash board not being recognized, no hash rate, complete loss of temperature data, and continuous hardware communication fault reports. Abnormal chip operation can also cause voltage domains to fail to enable properly, and intermittent power supply, directly resulting in mining shutdowns and reduced production.
