Memory IC M24C02-RMN6TP is a 2-Kbit I2C-compatible EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Memory) organized as 256x8 bits, the 24C02RP can be accessed with a supply voltage from 1.8V to 5.5V, these devices operate with a maximum clock frequency of 400 kHz.
24C02RP silkscreen marked EEPROM chips can be used in the hash boards of Antminer and Whatsminer M21S, M20S.
The M24C02-RMN6TP is used in Antminer and Whatsminer series hash boards. It relies on the I2C bus to non-volatility store the hash board serial number, ASIC calibration parameters, hardware configuration settings, and operational fault logs. It serves as the core storage element for the overall control board to identify the hash board and ensure proper hash board calibration and matching. When this chip malfunctions, abnormal parameter read/write operations will occur, leading to continuous fluctuations in the hash rate, batch error reports from the ASIC chip, intermittent hash board recognition issues, and no hash rate output from the entire machine. This can easily cause mining shutdowns and reduced mining output. It is recommended to replace this chip immediately upon discovering a fault to restore mining performance.
