When the hash rate of the Antminer e9 pro miner drops sharply and the kernel log reports 0 asic chips, how can we quickly fix the hash board failure?
The log shows that chain 0 "detected asic num less than design (0<8)", indicating that there should be 8 ASIC chips under normal circumstances. Now only 0 are detected, which is less than the set value.

1. First, check whether the chain 0 cable is loose or damaged. If not, it is recommended to disconnect the cables connected to one side of the two hash boards and swap them for troubleshooting purposes. Power on the miner and check the log display results.
Tips: The names of the C85 control board cable interfaces are Hashboard 0 and Hashboard 1. The hash boards connected to the corresponding cables are represented as Chain 0 and Chain 1 in the log. After swapping the cables, find the hash board according to the log name.

2. After replacing the cables, if the kernel log still reports that the chain 0 has 0 ASIC chips. And the chain 1 detects 8 ASIC chips, it means that the chain 0 cable has a fault problem, and the 18-pin data cable should be replaced.

3.If the kernel log changes after replacing the cable, chain 1 detects 0 ASIC chips, and chain 0 detects 8 regular ASIC chips. This means that the cable is not faulty, and the hash board connected to the current chain 1 is likely to be the faulty component.
4. Based on the above test results, remove the faulty hash board. Use the Antminer E9 pro hash board tester to troubleshoot. Please refer to the product page for connection and usage instructions.

5. If the test results show that the chain 1 hash board is faulty, we recommend the following methods to troubleshoot the problem:
a. First, verify whether the total domain voltage is within normal limits. The test leads of the multimeter are placed on the heat sinks of the first domain and the last domain, respectively, and the total domain voltage can be measured to be 15V.
b. Check whether the output voltage of the boost circuit is abnormal. Place the two probes at both ends of the boost capacitor. If the voltage here is abnormal, we need to check the components in the boost circuit. If there is an abnormal component voltage, check whether the voltage and resistance of the resistor connected to it are also abnormal. If there is no cold soldering, replace the abnormal component.
c. If the above checks are routine, verify whether the signal voltage of the ASIC chip is within normal limits. The CLK signal voltage is about 1.8V, RST is 0V, RX (RI, RO) is about 1.8V, and BO (BI, BO) is 0V. For more details, please refer to the Antminer E9pro Hash Board Repair Guide.
We have conducted a step-by-step investigation based on the Antminer E9 Pro miner hashboard, which reported 0 ASIC failures. Our goal is to seek solutions and improve the efficiency of repairing hashboards to prevent more severe losses for ASIC miners.
Q: How much power does E9 pro miner use?
A: Bitmain Antminer E9 Pro is a high-performance, low-power miner. Its power consumption is 2200W, and its hash rate is 3.68GH/s. It uses the Ethash algorithm and is used to mine Ethereum Classic.
