President of Coincheck: Japan lacks cryptocurrency institutional investors

Satoshi Hasuo, president of Coincheck, a Japanese crypto exchange, said in an interview that Japan’s institutional investors keen on crypto are relative “very few”, and Japan also lacks a framework to help cultivate professional crypto investors. He said, “Overseas, there is a considerable influx of institutional investors, which has stimulated the development of the market. In Japan, corporate and institutional investors have not taken similar actions. We do have OTC customers, but the number is very small. Almost none are listed companies."
