The SCS210AM is a 650V 10A silicon carbide Schottky diode in a TO-220FM package. It's a dedicated freewheeling diode for the PFC boost circuit of the Antminer APW12 and Avalon PSU3300-03 power supplies, providing a stable 400V high-voltage bus output, suppressing high-voltage spikes, reducing overall machine heat generation, and providing a clean and stable high voltage to the downstream LLC main circuit, ensuring stable hashrate output under full load.
When the SCS210AM fails, the input fuse blows immediately upon powering on, the entire machine fails to power on, and the voltage drops immediately upon connecting the hashrate board. A noticeable high-frequency whistling sound occurs from the power supply, and the miner frequently goes offline and restarts. Severe short circuits can reverse-damage the PFC power MOSFET and burn out driver components. The high-voltage circuit board turns black, accompanied by a burnt odor. Prolonged, enclosed, high-dust mining at full load 24/7 accelerates the thermal decay of the silicon carbide diode. Timely replacement of faulty components can reduce losses caused by prolonged mining shutdowns.
