According to reports, Mexican retail giant Ricardo Salinas Pliego, owner of Elektra, announced that they will now accept Bitcoin as a payment method. Ricardo announced the news on Twitter and that Elektra is the first retail store ever to start using Bitcoin for payments in Mexico. In addition, the company offers an additional 20% discount to customers who use cryptocurrency to make purchases and plans to work with crypto payment company Bitpay to process their BTC transactions.
