Bitcoin should not be used as a currency substitute

Norges Bank Governor Oeystein Olsen stated that people should not start using Bitcoin as a currency substitute. It is hard to imagine that Bitcoin will replace the currency currently controlled by the central bank. Olsen said in a telephone interview: “Bitcoin is too resource-intensive and costly, and most importantly, it cannot maintain stability. The basic property and task of the central bank and central bank currency is to provide currency value and system stability, while Bitcoin Coin cannot do this."
